Congratulations on your Pregnancy
Are you just pregnant? Got your BFP?
It is so exciting! Enjoy this wonderful moment, for some ladies doubt can creep in particularly when there has been a difficult journey or sadly a miscarriage may have happened.
These feelings, whatever you are experiencing are natural and very normal. Many women have never allowed themselves permission to experience what it would feel like to be ‘pregnant.’ Then when it happens it can feel so confusing, on one hand excitement whilst on the other a few level of anxieties have appeared.
Getting to 7 weeks
It can seem like years waiting for your first scan, seeing your gorgeous little one is a very special moment. Then its back on the waiting game for the next milestone of 12 weeks bringing more questions, “Shall we announce our news now?” There is no doubt these first few weeks can seem like a lifetime.
My advice is to just take it step by step listen to your body. This is time to be practical and place yourself as top priority, this is well earned time just for you.
Visualisations are wonderful at this stage as well as meditations are great ways to help you feel calm, centred and relaxed. Treat this time as your ‘me’ time I promise, you wont regret it and remember that famous Disney song ……!
Here’s my top 5 tips to enjoy your early pregnancy
- Create a play list of all your favourite music
- Nourish your body – cook comfort food
- Nurture yourself – ask your self “What do I need?”
- Events – Rearrange your social diary
- Give yourself Permission to do whatever you need or want!
If I can help in anyway, just get in touch, Susie x
In Helen’s words …..
On 12th May this year, my 8 year old son finally became a big brother to twins, Oliver and Charlie and last Friday I was thrilled to be able to introduce them to Susie. It’s been a long journey with many ups and downs. I have had periods when I have switched off from the whole thing and periods when I have been obsessed with the latest fertility fad, and for about the last 5 years, Susie has been a massive support to me. I first contacted Susie during quite a low period when I was clutching at any straw to try and become pregnant again and I’d heard that reflexology could help. I distinctly remember our first phone conversation when she took so much time to listen to my story and reassure me that there were positive steps that I could take to achieve my dream.
Although I initially contacted Susie about reflexology, my relationship with her has been so much more than that and she has supported me in so many ways including hypnotherapy, reiki, and above all by being a fantastic listener. She has an amazing ability to make you feel like you are her only client and sessions with her are very much tailored to what you need at that particular time. Sometimes we talk and sometimes I just switch off and relax. Through Susie I have uncovered and dealt with various issues, which were possibly preventing me from becoming pregnant, not least my fear of turning 40! She helped me bounce back from a miscarriage, both physically and mentally and supported me through IVF at 41. The great thing about Susie is that there is no pressure to see her all the time. During my pregnancy I felt great and really positive however, when I suffered from bleeding or found out that I would have to give birth under general anaesthetic, she was there for me at the end of a phone or a text.
Having tried for a second baby for about 7 years I’m amazed and feel totally blessed that I now actually have 2!! Susie has definitely helped me to “become a mama” for a second time, and I know that had it not worked out, she would have helped me move forward and accept having an only child. She is like the ultimate selfless friend; always ready to support and listen.
