Panic is the sudden sensation of fear, it is often the thought of not being able to control your fertility. The body does not handle panic well, and when you’re anxious and fearful it can become a viscous cycle of panic creating stress which has a negative impact on your fertility and the more challenging it is for you to conceive the more you experience panic.
Panic is a strong emotion and when it happens it can overshadow all logical thinking, rendering you into a state of fear and negativity.
Have you ever felt panic when:
• Another month has gone by and your next birthday is getting closer and closer
• Your relationship is in turmoil and you fight regularly about having a baby
• You’ve rushed into making decisions out of desperation which you regret in hindsight.
Panic can leave you feeling impulsive and irrational, acting in ways that are not always beneficial to you.
What can we do about it?
Panic really is something that can be reduced quickly. While you cannot cure your feeling of anxiety in one day, you can calm yourself to the degree that it stops affecting you as much.
Taking control of your breathing will help, simply slow down your breathing to 15 seconds minimum, and do your best to fight any urge to take a deep breath, remain calm and focus on breathing slowly.
Exercise releases endorphins to improve mood and gentle exercise will help your breathing to slow down, yoga, walking, swimming, relaxes muscles, burns away the stress hormone cortisol and provides mental distraction.
